Calorie Smart AI (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our website, mobile application, and related services (the “Service”). We do not sell your personal data. We do not show ads. Your health information stays yours.

• Account information (email, name, password) when you create an account
• Meal logs, food descriptions, and nutrition data you enter or speak
• Photos of food you submit for AI recognition
• Voice recordings when you use voice logging (processed to transcribe and log meals)
• Barcode scans of packaged foods

Information from your device:

• Apple Health data you choose to share (steps, workouts, sleep, weight, active energy) — only if you grant permission
• Device type and operating system for compatibility

Automatically collected:

• Usage data (e.g., features used, crash reports) to improve the Service
• Website analytics (if you visit our website) — anonymized where possible

We use your information to:

• Provide and improve the Service (calorie tracking, AI food recognition, health score, etc.)
• Process your meal logs, photos, and voice input to deliver nutrition data
• Sync with Apple Health when you authorize it
• Manage your account and subscription
• Respond to support requests
• Send important service updates (e.g., security or policy changes)
• Analyze usage patterns to improve the app (aggregated, anonymized)

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your personal or health data to third parties.

We use trusted third parties to operate the Service:

• Apple: App distribution, in-app purchases, subscriptions, and Apple Health integration. Apple’s privacy policy applies to data processed by Apple.
• Food and nutrition APIs: To look up calorie and nutrition data for foods (e.g., barcode scans, food databases). Only the minimum data needed (e.g., barcode, food name) is sent.
• AI/ML services: To recognize food from photos and process voice input. Data is processed to provide results and is not used to train models for other purposes.
• Hosting and infrastructure: To store and process your data securely.

These providers are bound by agreements to protect your data and use it only as needed to provide the Service.

Your data is stored on secure servers with industry-standard safeguards. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest where applicable. Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel who need it to operate the Service. We retain your data for as long as your account is active and as required for legal or operational purposes.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your data (you can also delete your account in the app)
• Export: Request an export of your data in a portable format
• Opt-out: Revoke Apple Health permissions in your device settings; we will stop syncing that data

Your data may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers. We take steps to ensure your data receives adequate protection in accordance with applicable laws.
